| Introducing Barrie's 2023 Emerging Artists |
The Emerging Artist Program is a music industry incubator initiative created and operated by the Canadian Musicians Co-operative with support from the City that supports young artists in developing skills within the music industry. The program, open to artists ages 15–30, provides a platform to incubate and showcase emerging musicians while creating a lively and dynamic atmosphere in the city's core through street performance. This year 38 young musicians will be performing on Barrie streets and waterfront trails and at community events. | | |

| Calling all Buskers! | Applying for and obtaining a busker permit is free! This program provides the opportunity for performing artists to receive a permit to busk at one of two branded “Busk Stops” in downtown Barrie in 2023. Applicants must provide: - Contact information
- Information on the performance type
- Certificate of insurance. If you do not already have insurance, you can purchase it through one of the City’s third-party providers.
