The annual gala occurs in November and features presentations and performances celebrating the sector and this year's award winners.

Call for Culture Days Activity Providers |
Culture Days returns September 20th to October 13th, promising to deliver three glorious weeks of colour, creativity, and community! The City of Barrie is seeking activity providers to engage the community in hands-on and interactive arts experiences. Honorariums of up to $1,000 are available for selected activities. The deadline for applying is Monday, July 22nd at 11:59 PM.

Submissions are being accepted for the Central Ontario Youth Short Film Festival | This exciting regional competition is open to all students registered in high schools within Central Ontario, Canada (includes Barrie, Bracebridge, Collingwood, Orillia, Oshawa, Toronto/GTA). This regional festival is hosted and organized by the Barrie Film Festival and is an affiliated film festival with the Ontario Youth Film Festival (OYFF). Together they work to celebrate, inspire and nurture the development of young aspiring filmmakers in Ontario, Canada.
The submission deadline is Wednesday, July 31st. | | |

Busking Season is Here! |
Applying for and obtaining a busker permit is free! This program provides the opportunity for performing artists to receive a permit to busk in one of several busking zones in downtown Barrie and on the waterfront. Applicants must provide: - Contact information
- Information on the performance type
- Certificate of insurance. If you do not already have insurance, you can purchase it through one of the City’s third-party providers.
