We're excited to celebrate Honda's $15 billion investment announcement to create Canada's first comprehensive electric vehicle supply chain. This investment will continue to support the automotive supply chain in the region and will have a continued benefit for the hundreds of Barrie residents who work at Honda and its suppliers.

May 31.

Registration is open for the 2024 Manufacturing Innovation Summit: Behind the Factory Doors. This year's event takes place on Thursday, June 20th and includes tours and breakout sessions in three of Barrie's top manufacturing facilities.

The 2024 Barrie Airshow marks the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). On May 30, City of Barrie Mayor Alex Nuttall and City of Saginaw Mayor Brenda Moore signed the official agreement to became sister cities. The sister city agreement will focus on economic development, trade promotion, educational exchange, community development and cultural exchange.    

The City of Barrie is updating its Culture Plan and incorporating a Public Art Strategy. This plan will help to shape Barrie's cultural trajectory over the next decade and guide future decisions, policies, programs and investments to enhance the local creative sector.
