From the very beginning the goal of Cartier Farms and Dreamwinds has been to ensure our graduates are delivering the best EAL programs with a keen focus on impact, safety and integrity.  To that end, we are introducing our new EAL Assistant Course to help you build the team that will help you deliver consistently on that goal.

 There is tremendous value in having qualified help and when your co-facilitators understand the program and objectives thoroughly, it is game changing for your programs.   But not everyone is going to run their own programs or can justify the cost of full certification to work part time at another facility.  That's where our EAL Assistant Program fits in!  This program is designed to develop the skills and understanding required of a top notch assistant!   This course will provide the background and structure of the Cartier EAL Building Block Curriculum, how the program is designed and executed along with fundamental facilitation skills to enable you, as a Certified EAL Facilitator, to have a highly qualified, professional team to deliver safer, even more impactful programs with the utmost integrity.   

Here are the details: 

Course Curriculum: 

• The fundamentals of the Cartier EAL Building Block Curriculum
• The EAL Form of Delivery
• The core role of an EAL Assistant
  • How to prepare for a program including set up and wrap up an EAL exercise 
  • How to quickly assess EAL horses and reset them
  • Horse behaviour and body language
  • How to guide the learning journey - the art of facilitationUnderstanding escalation/de-escalation & challenges when authorized by a Certified EAL Facilitator
  • How to effectively self-evaluate and continuously improve

Two Training Options Available:

• IN PERSON:
  • 2-day course at Dreamwinds EAL Centre
    (Cartier dates to be announced)
  • Classroom theory in the morning, hands-on practicum in the afternoons
    
    
• ONLINE/HOME FACILITY:
  • 2 half-day online course via live zoom conference with Tracey or Gayle
  • 1 day in-person hands-on guided practicum with you, the Certified EAL Facilitator mentor at own facility (Dreamwinds will also host 1 day practicums for those who wish to complete the training here)

• $175 training fee per EAL Assistant Graduate when hosting your Online/Home Facility training sessions

NOTE:  This program does not certify them to run or lead their own programs and the Building Block Curriculum of exercises is not included.  Participants must be referred by a Cartier/Dreamwinds Certified EAL Facilitator to register.   

COST:  $1850 +hst

NOTE:  $1000 of this fee will be credited toward the full Carter/Dreamwinds EAL Facilitator Certification Course should they decide to upgrade in the future and wish to run their own programs or be a lead facilitator at your facility.
