Culture Days returns September 19th to October 12th, promising to deliver three glorious weeks of colour, creativity, and community! The City of Barrie is seeking activity providers to engage the community in hands-on and interactive arts experiences. Honorariums of up to $800 are available for selected activities. The deadline for applying is Monday, July 14th at 11:59 PM.

in Doors Open Barrie |
Doors Open Barrie showcases the history and architecture of our city and celebrates some of the places that make our city special. Do you have a heritage building or a unique space that people may want to tour? Register your site for Doors Open Barrie, taking place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
New this year, Doors Open is partnering with Culture Days to offer free, hands-on arts and culture experiences at Doors Open sites! The registration deadline is Monday, July 21st at 11:59 PM. | | |

| Busking Season is Here! |
Applying for and obtaining a busker permit is free! This program provides the opportunity for performing artists to receive a permit to busk in one of several busking zones in downtown Barrie and on the waterfront. Applicants must provide: - Contact information
- Information on the performance type
- Certificate of insurance. If you do not already have insurance, you can purchase it through one of the City’s third-party providers.

Place: Barrie Dance Conservatory, 40 Bell Farm Rd Unit 10/11 SCD is seeking passionate contemporary dance artists who are eager to perform and grow with a collaborative and community-rooted company. They are committed to fostering an inclusive environment and welcome individuals from equity-deserving groups, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds, LGBTQ2S+ communities, and persons with disabilities to audition. Please pre-register and arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of the audition start time (6:20 pm) to warm-up and complete their participation waiver and image release forms. | | |

The Barrie Film Festival’s 4th Annual Central Ontario Youth Short Film Festival (COYSFF) is a regional competition for students registered in high schools in the Central Ontario region.
This is a qualifying festival for the Ontario Youth Film Festival (OYFF). The runners-up and winners in COYSFF's categories will advance to the OYFF’s competition to win “Best in Ontario”! The deadline to submit is Thursday, July 31, 2025. | | |

Illuminate the past. Inspire the future! Learn the foundation of all museum and gallery work. Network with museum and gallery professionals. Work with Georgian College’s The Campus Gallery and extensive art/ceramic collection. Engaged curriculum and experiential learning opportunities prepare students for their internship.
Museum and Gallery Studies in a 3-semester certificate program. Semesters 1 and 2 are spent in class whereas semester 3 is spent developing a portfolio and gaining work experience through a summer internship.
